REFI Grant
Canoe Trip and Recycling Program

Our agriculture program received a $500 grant through the Rockingham Education Foundation, Inc. With this grant we conducted a river clean up with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation by canoeing down the Shenandoah River and picking up trash along the way. We also purchased recycling bins to place in our school to begin a recycling program.
BOAC Grant
Building Our American Communities

We also received a BOAC grant through the Virginia FFA. With this grant we painted flowerpots and gave houseplants to the residents of Journey's Crossings assisted living facility in Elkton. The students felt that this helped brighten the day for these individuals and showed them the support of the community. As part of this grant we plan to make fleece blankets for the individuals in the nursing home as well. Members made fleece blankets during our chapter FFA Christmas party that were donated to the Elkton Area United Service and the students would like to keep the project going to meet more community needs.
